Claude Code's cloud sessions are the feature Claude fans have been waiting for: your coding agent keeps running on Anthropic-hosted infrastructure even after you close your laptop. Cloud sessions went generally available on September 24, 2026, and to mark the launch Anthropic announced one-time promotional credits for paid subscribers — $100 if you are on Pro, $250 if you are on Max. The credit applies automatically to your cloud sessions, sits separate from your subscription's usage limits, and Anthropic absorbs the hosting cost, so there is no VM bill on top.
The catch is the clock. You must claim the credit by 11:59 PM PT on October 7, 2026, and whatever you do not use expires at 11:59 PM PT on November 4, 2026. It is one credit per account, and it only covers cloud sessions — not local Claude Code sessions, Projects, or Routines. To actually run cloud sessions you need GitHub connected, because the work happens on Anthropic's infrastructure against your repositories. Start sessions from claude.ai/code, the Claude mobile app's Code tab, the desktop app, or with claude --cloud from the CLI.
